the ayate car on display at imma, dublin.

created in 1997 by betsabee romero of mexico, the car is a 1955 ford victoria, covered with ayate fabric and oil painted, with 10,000 dried roses stuffed inside.

the hours was an exhibition of contemporary Latin-American art on display at imma (irish museum of modern art) from october 5th 2005 to january 15th 2006. this exhibit was on display in the courtyard of imma and was able to be photographed, but the rest of the exhibit was not.

the daros-latinamerica collection is among the most important private collections of contemporary art in europe, with its own museum in zurich, switzerland. for the last five years the museum has also been collecting latin-american art, including the most influential latin-american artists of the last two decades, such as guillermo kuitca (argentina), doris salcedo (colombia), marta maria perez bravo (cuba), vik muniz (brazil) and santiago sierra (mexico).

the show at imma was be the first presentation of the collection outside switzerland and will occupy the east wing, the courtyard and the gardens.
