happy st. patrick's day! if you really want to be irish please drink sensibly and refrain from drinking green beer or stout! whatever else you do, please don't listen to cheesy traditional irish music! most people in ireland plan to do at least two of these things, and some of us will do all three!

apologies if that sounded preachy, but consider it an attempt to get away from all the clichéd nonsense that surrounds the irish identity. there are no leprechauns. saint patrick did not drive the snakes out of ireland. ireland is not the country that is depicted in "the quiet man".
